Portfolio Manager (m/f/d)
Imagine a future where you structure and execute hedge decisions for the consolidated renewables portfolio in Ørsted.

Join us in this role where you’ll develop, test and execute various hedging strategies to optimize the profile of Ørsted’s renewable asset portfolio. You will be responsible for a significant number of risk-reward considerations covering internal Ørsted factors like renewable portfolio composition and financial risk capital constraints, while equally including considerations on power market fundamentals and price formation. Your principal stakeholders will be the Portfolio Managers and Directors in C&P’s Portfolio Management team, traders on the revenue delivery desk in our Trading function, and the quants operating our revenue cashflow model.
Welcome to Commercial & Portfolio
You’ll be part of the Portfolio Management team in Commercial & Portfolio (C&P) where you, together with your colleagues, will define and execute optimal hedging strategies for Ørsted’s power portfolio based on comprehensive risk/reward considerations. Your area of responsibility will include identifying optionality leavers and portfolio synergies within the existing portfolio and define strategies to further push the optimal risk-reward balance.
As a team, we are a high-skilled, international, and diverse group of specialists in an exciting work environment with flexibility to influence own work.
You’ll play an important role in:
- designing commercial strategies which improve the robustness of the portfolio
- guiding portfolio shaping needs within our hedge policy and risk capital mandates
- cultivating value-adding opportunities from optionality embedded in the portfolio
- challenging assumptions and results in all de-risking and portfolio building activities
- providing sparring to development and divestment projects on portfolio desires based on strategic fit
- ensuring operational excellence and discipline in our decision making.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have experience from applied portfolio management and ideally options theory
- have a good understanding of different subsidy structures and price guarantees in renewables
- are proficient in power market fundamentals and price formation
- find motivation in working with quantitative analyses and contract details to find value levers
- can validate assumptions and results from renewable asset valuations
- have experience with valuation of flexibility/storage/BESS as plus.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
