Global offshore wind leader Ørsted has funded Taiwan’s first dedicated offshore wind supplier network to promote the localization of the offshore wind power supply chain. The Changhua Wind Power Supplier Network, operated by the Industrial Development & Investment Promotion Committee of Changhua County (IDIPC) under the guidance of Changhua County Government, will connect all the offshore wind power developers and local enterprises in Changhua to form a strong, local offshore wind power supply chain.

The network integrates comprehensive demands throughout the offshore wind supply chain. These range from industrial-specific goods and services of operation and maintenance base to everyday commodities such as catering, hospitality and transportation. It also provides a platform for local suppliers to directly communicate with offshore wind power developers. This allows the matching of procurement supply and demand throughout the construction and operation & maintenance phases of wind farms, and also enhances local suppliers’ international competitiveness and reputation.

The registration for Changhua County Wind Power Supplier Network is now open. During 2018 Energy Taiwan Exhibition (September 19 to 21), more local suppliers in Taiwan are welcomed to register at the Ørsted’s booth (No. K0925a). Local enterprises are encouraged to become members and can register without charge. Members will be able to obtain the latest industry trends and business information exclusively.

Matthias Bausenwein, Ørsted’s General Manager Asia Pacific and Chairman Taiwan, mentioned, “Ørsted is moving full speed ahead to realize its Greater Changhua projects, and actively implements its localization plan for offshore wind power industry. To date, we have signed contracts with 30 local suppliers. Since future procurement demands throughout construction and maintenance phases of wind farms will span across different industries, we look forward to cooperating with more outstanding local businesses via the Changhua Wind Power Supplier Network.”

About Changhua Wind Power Supplier Network

The Industrial Development & Investment Promotion Committee of Changhua County (IDIPC of Changhua County) established a wind power supplier network under the guidance of the Changhua County Government to promote the localization of offshore wind power industry. The network is the first wind farm supply chain matching platform in Taiwan. The main objective is to create a bridge between developers, main contractors and local partners. The platform operates to connect the procurement needs throughout the construction and maintenance phases of wind farms. This in turn integrates all the resources effectively, and enhances the international competitiveness and reputation of local suppliers. For more information, please visit http://www.chsnetwork.org
