Ørsted Asia Pacific further expands for Greater Changhua 1 & 2a project construction works
Global offshore wind leader Ørsted established the Asia Pacific hub in Taipei, Taiwan in 2016. The team has grown and is expected to exceed 100 employees by end of 2019, and further expand post 2020.
As the Ørsted APAC team ramps up, there will be more than 40 local job openings for the project’s construction, operation and maintenance in Changhua and Taichung Harbor (in central Taiwan), and for jacket foundation manufacturing in Kaohsiung (in southern Taiwan). The vacancies are expected to be filled during the first two quarters of 2020.
Ørsted will thus participate in the job fair organized by the Changhua County Government on 7th September, and another job fair organized by the Taichung City Government on 5th October. At the job fairs, Ørsted will release job vacancies for Changhua, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, as well as elaborate on the details of job openings.
Matthias Bausenwein, President of Ørsted Asia Pacific and Chairman of Taiwan, says:
“Offshore wind is now creating unprecedented new job opportunities with attractive salaries in Taiwan. We welcome Taiwan’s local talents to join the Ørsted APAC team, and be the driving force behind one of the energy transition efforts in Taiwan and the Asia Pacific.”
Ørsted’s APAC team consists of a mix of European offshore wind experts and local talents, ready to thrive in the booming new industry in Taiwan. Ørsted continues to develop market opportunities in Asia, while gearing up for the construction work of the Greater Changhua 1 & 2a projects to meet the construction timelines scheduled for the next few years.”
