Environmental Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll work within the US Permitting team. As an Environmental Manager, you’ll have a key role in the development of our offshore wind projects on the east coast of the United States. You’ll be involved in a range of environmental, permitting, and scientific topics to support both project development and construction. 

Welcome to Permitting 
You’ll be part of the US Permitting team where you, together with your colleagues, will plan and coordinate efficient environmental and regulatory review and permitting of projects. You’ll be working in a bright, diverse, and ambitious team with caring and honest colleagues. 

You’ll play an important role in:  

  • managing or supporting management of external consultants who are undertaking surveys and studies to support the permitting processes 

  • obtaining necessary approvals for site investigation surveys and planning of surveys to comply with regulatory requirements 

  • coordinating the development of permit drawings and environmental compliance plans with engineering, construction, and execution teams internally 

  • establishing and maintaining positive relationships with agency personnel and other key internal and external stakeholders. 

To succeed in the role, you:  

  • have, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree within a relevant field, e.g. environmental policy, marine biology, marine affairs, law, or other related disciplines 

  • have 2+ years' experience within the field, e.g. from wind industry, large infrastructure projects, utilities or power generation industries, through working for consultancies, agencies or related organizations 

  • have in-depth knowledge of US regulations and policies, as well as relationships with decision makers, policy makers, and state/federal authorities 

  • have excellent technical writing skills and stakeholder management abilities 

  • are a trustworthy and impactful communicator with the ability to maintain a detailed dialogue, as well as the ability to address large groups and disseminate the bigger picture when required.
